A dragon tail slams into the earth beneath the tatsugiri, flinging it up into the air. Spinning desperately through the air, it clings onto the pillowy rice underneath it. Baki tosses a ball with expert timing, hitting her mark in midair. The sways slightly, then falls still.[break][break]

Sumire leaps into action, sensitive to the needs of her mistress. Without a command, a bite shrouded in ice freezes the bug solid. She tosses it away, letting it thaw far away from them, once they've left the safari.[break][break]

"... G-... good girl."[break][break]

Baki comes back to her senses, pushing through the worst of the nausea. It was a fluke, just one encounter. The next one she'll hit her mark for sure.[break][break]

She frowns, walking up to it. She's seen these fish before. Common, pitiful. They're useless. And yet, this one shines in an immaculate golden color. [break][break]

"... I'll find you a place you can't beach yourself. Here."[break][break]

Baki crouches down and touches a pokeball to the tip of its head. The fish doesn't even struggle in the ball before it's captured, wasting all its strength splashing around fruitlessly. [break][break]

That's when the smell hits her. The pokemon is using fire on the end of its tail to cook something.[break][break]

"Ugh... let's go this way, Sumi."[break][break]

Baki turns the other way, into the wind so the smell won't follow them. Behind her the Arbok flicks her tongue in and out, the smell of the cooked meal making her salivate. [break][break]

"Sumi! It's you!"[break][break]

Baki calls out, pointing to the snake's reflection in a bronze, floating mirror. [break][break]

"It's trying to play tricks on your mind! Might be psychic! Use Crunch!"[break][break]

The Arbok strikes at her own image, ready to sink her fangs into another cobra pokemon. As they strike metal, the mirror is knocked out of the air and falls to the dirt, where the Arbok slams her tail down to keep it pinned.[break][break]

"... Know just the kinda guy who might be interested in this."[break][break]

Baki takes a ball and touches it to the mirror.[break][break]

An earthy smell that reminds her of home. She'd recognize it anywhere.[break][break]
